This large home set on 5 acres in the centre of Kangaroo Valley is entered via a tree lined driveway.
The gardens and trees have been beautifully maintain by the present owner along with 5 acres of land to explore to the rear of the home.
This home was for many years a well known local Bed and Breakfast so welcoming guests has been part of its history.
The home has been recently renovated yet keeping some of its original charm.
5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms will comfortably accommodate the large family group or friends. Great location for bus pick ups if spending time in the area for a wedding or simply walking into the village.
The home is even pet friendly!
The large lounge/dining/kitchen area will accommodate a group both large and small with easy access out on to the front decked area with a covered entertaining space and BBQ.
For cooler evenings the rear lounge room with potbellied fire is a cosy space. A large games room with Pool Table and Table Tennis and a TV room will keep the small and not so small children happy!
If you would also like more break out space there is a small quiet room with a sofa and chairs along with a library and a further TV room at the far end of the home (please see floor plan)
The outside area has plenty of space for the entire group along with areas to just sit and enjoy the bird and wildlife.
Nestled beneath the magnificent Barrengarry escarpment with sweeping views across Kangaroo Valley to the mountain range opposite, lies Birdsong.
If you appreciate solitude and being surrounded by nature but like to take your rustic with a side of luxe, Birdsong might just be your new favourite place. The cottage has been beautifully reimagined in modern country style and sits on five lush green acres backed by ancient rainforest.
Under two hours’ drive from Sydney, the four-bedroom cottage is an ideal country retreat for couples, families, or a group of friends. The king bed in the master bedroom overlooks a small wooden deck (perfect for your morning coffee) to old-growth cedar trees filled with the sounds of birdsong. A beautiful ensuite adds to the feeling of quiet luxury.
Down the panelled hallway are two further queen bedrooms, one with its own bathroom. The fourth bedroom has both a queen and a loft bed and can sleep two adults, or alternatively makes a fun retreat for two or three children. The house can sleep eight guests comfortably.
It’s easy to throw together a quick meal or indulge your cooking passions in the chef’s kitchen, which features a SMEG oven, dishwasher, Nespresso machine and microwave. If that sounds like too much effort, the cafes of Kangaroo Valley are under ten minutes’ drive away. The deck features a gas barbecue and eight-seater outdoor setting with picture-perfect views over the pool and mountainside.
On cooler days, the cosy open log fire beckons after your mountain walks; sit in the leather chair and browse the extensive book collection or just gaze out through the seven-metre picture window to the pastures and escarpment beyond. The sunset views are spectacular – but the ever-changing panorama will keep you captivated throughout your stay. The fire pit, perched high with mountain views, is perfect for endless marshmallows and hot chocolate shared with friends. On lazy summer weekends, sip a cold gin and tonic and enjoy some sunshine by the eight-metre mineral swimming pool.
The lush gardens are a joy to explore with grassy lawns, a paddock with dramatic views to enjoy a sunset picnic, and established trees and flowerbeds that attract wildlife including wallabies, kangaroos, wombats, fairy wrens, lyrebirds and owls.
Modern comforts are catered for, with reverse-cycle air conditioning, WiFi (satellite), and a Bluetooth music system. Towels, pool towels and luxury bedlinen are provided and there is a washer and dryer.
The property has a fenced pool and an unfenced dam, and while children are warmly welcomed, they must be supervised at all times. Pets are considered on request.

Spending time here for a special family birthday was just perfect. Lots of space to eat outside and the grandchildren had a ball. The games room was particularly popular! It is quite rare to find a home with such space so we will all be back for the next birthday!
We spent a few days here when attending a wedding in Kangaroo Valley. Just perfect space for a group of friends, plenty of bathrooms too! Easy access to the Village and the bus that took us to the wedding. Could not recommend more highly.
Kooyong was a great place for our extended family to spend a few days away. Plenty of space for us all. An easy walk to the centre of the village let us go to the Friendly Inn for a drink and dinner and perfect for an early morning walk for coffee. We will be back next year.
